Know, verily, that the soul is a sign of God, a heavenly gem whose reality the most learned of men hath failed to grasp, and whose mystery no mind, however acute, can ever hope to unravel. It is the first among all created things to declare the excellence of its Creator, the first to recognize His glory, to cleave to His truth, and to bow down in adoration before Him. If it be faithful to God, it will reflect His light, and will, eventually, return unto Him. If it fail, however, in its allegiance to its Creator, it will become a victim to self and passion, and will, in the end, sink in their depths. — Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, LXXXII ================================================================================================================================================== The purpose of God in creating man hath been, and will ever be, to enable him to know his Creator and to attain His Presence…Whoso hath recognized the Dayspring of Divine guidance and enter...

The Life of Anis: A Seeker of Light

Anis was not just a son, a brother, or a friend—he was a soul in constant search of truth, a heart attuned to the mysteries of existence. From an early age, his deep spirituality set him apart, as if he carried within him the wisdom of ancient souls. His words, often profound and unexpected, would leave us in awe, revealing the depth of his contemplation. He was an awakened soul, one who sought the light beyond what the eyes could see. Night after night, he would find solace by the seaside, letting the rhythmic whispers of the waves accompany his silent meditations. In the stillness of the night, when the world was asleep, he remained awake—his heart and mind reaching beyond the veil of the material world. But the ocean was not his only sanctuary. The quiet embrace of the forest also called to him. Alone in the woods, under the vast sky, he would delve into the infinite, contemplating the mysteries of creation, the oneness of all things, and the essence of divinity. His thoughts of...

Anis A Generous Character

Anis – A Generous Character Anis was a soul whose generosity knew no bounds. He gave not only with his hands but with his heart, always ready to offer kindness, understanding, and support. His presence was like a warm embrace, a reminder that love and selflessness are the truest riches one can share. One of his greatest gifts was his ability to counsel others. Whether in matters of work or personal life, Anis guided many souls with wisdom and sincerity. He listened with patience, offered sound advice, and always sought to uplift those who came to him. He did not merely speak—he understood, he empathized, and he gave freely of his time and energy to help others find their way. His generosity was not merely an act—it was his nature, flowing effortlessly from the depths of his being. He helped without hesitation, advised without judgment, and shared his knowledge and experience without expecting anything in return. Though his physical presence is now absent, his generous spirit remains,...

Anis' Life – As Far as My Memory Serves

Anis' Life – Education ------- Anis was born on July 11, 1984, weighing 5 kg at the former Jeetoo Government Hospital. From the very beginning, he was full of vitality and life. A highly intelligent boy, he often complained that he wasn’t learning anything at school. I still remember the day he came home early, having skipped school. To my surprise, I had to take him back myself. He argued that he went to school for nothing. Later, we discovered that he had been avoiding school for several days. Je lui ai donné une fessée that day, and he never forgot it—he would often remind me of it later, though I always felt sorry for it. Despite these early school struggles, Anis excelled in his studies. He passed his CPE exams successfully, ranking 49th in the country and placing among the top 100 students in Mauritius. He then attended the Royal College of Curepipe, where he passed his SC and HSC brilliantly. Pursuing higher education, Anis moved to France to study Law and later return...

From Amanda

Eulogy to Anis from his classmate, Chetan Ramchurn, at Royal College Curepipe

Eulogy to Anis from his classmate, Chetan Ramchurn, at Royal College Curepipe In memory of Anis Dholah 11.07.1984-26.02.2025 We were destined to be friends. my father, late Vijaykumar Ramchurm and Anis's uncle, Mr. David Pellegrin were colleagues and mates at St Andrews School. Anis's brother, Brian was my father's student in high school We were both at the Royal College of Curepipe and in the very same class for 7 years. I was born on the 10th of July and Anis on the 11th of the same month in 1984. Still, although all the stars were aligned, while we were always on friendly terms, we only bonded in the latter years of our high school journey. Anis has travelled to Israel and had returned transformed. He was kinder; more profound in thoughts and words. Later in our professional lives, we met again and collaborated on a number of flagship projects. He had grown into a thoughtful and compassionate man. I've read that in the Bahai faith the soul does not die, it pro...
